Kashmir college principals asked to ensure peaceful atmosphere

Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today asked the principals of the various colleges to ensure peaceful atmosphere in their institutions and prevent entry of outsiders there.

He directed the principals to adopt proactive approach in dealing with any untoward incidents on campuses and focus on ensuring peaceful atmosphere at their institutions, an official spokesman said after a meeting convened by Khan to review functioning of educational institutions in the valley.



The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Farooq Ahmad Lone, the officials from the education department including the principals of the colleges.

The deputy commissioners of other districts in the valley participated in the meeting through video-conferencing, the spokesman said.

Khan also directed the principals to involve the faculty members for counselling the students on regular basis.

He also asked them to not allow any outsider into their respective institute premises, the spokesman said.
