Left parties in Puducherry and Karaikal have decided to stage a joint rail roko on November 28, to protest against the Centre's move to demonetise high value currency notes.
"Left parties and their fraternal outfits will stage a joint rail roko agitation in Puducherry and Karaikal regions on November 28, to protest against the Centre's demonetisation move, National Council member of CPI from Puducherry," N Kalainathan told reporters here today.
All sections of people and working class had been severely hit by the demonetisation move, he alleged.
The move had come as a bolt from the blue, landingdaily wage earners, traders, members of unorganised sector and others in utter disarray, Kalainathan said.
There should have been alternative arrangements to ensure that normal life was not thrown out of gear, he added.
