Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today condoled the death of Members of Parliament Mohammed Taslimuddin and Mahant Chandnath.
Chandnath, the BJP MP from Alwar, was suffering from cancer and passed away at a hospital here today.
Taslimuddin, a veteran Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and party MP from Araria Lok Sabha seat, also died today at a hospital in Chennai.
In her message, Mahajan said, "I am pained to know about the sad and untimely demise of two of my esteemed colleagues in Lok Sabha - Taslimuddin and Chand Nath Yogi."
A senior leader and former minister in Union Council of Ministers, Taslimuddin served the people, particularly those from the Lok Sabha constituencies that he represented during his long political career, in a dedicated manner, she said.
Mahajan said Chandnath was a social and spiritual leader, who raised issues that affected the poor and the depressed people, besides representing Alwar in the Lok Sabha.
"I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and followers of Shri Taslim Uddin and Shri Chand Nath Yogi," she said.
