Man dies after being pushed out of moving train

Press Trust of India  |  Chandigarh

A man died after he and another person were allegedly pushed out by some people from a train near a railway station in Haryana's district, a senior GRP official said today.

Davinder (38), a resident of Palwal district, and Lalit were allegedly pushed out by some miscreants last night, DSP Railway Police (GRP), Mohinder Singh said over phone.

"It has been found in preliminary investigations that there was a dispute between the two sides (victims and the assailants) over some matter," he said.

The duo were allegedly pushed out of a Delhi-Indore train near the Asaoti Railway Station, which is close to Palwal. Davinder was killed in the incident, and Lalit suffered serious injured and has been hospitalised, the DSP said.

The accused, like the victims, were standing near the coach's door, Singh said.

The DSP said that a case has been registered and two people have been taken into custody. The matter is being investigated, he said.

The incident comes close on the heels of 17-year-old boy being stabbed in a Mathura-bound train when he and his brothers were returning from to Palwal district's Khandawli village after Eid shopping on June 22.
