Medium sugar surges on better offtake

On the otherhand, small sugar variety maintained a stable trend owing to lack any worthwhile buying support.

Medium sugar (M-30) moved up by Rs 16/10 per quintal to Rs 3,066/3,211 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,050/3,201.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,991/3,041 (Rs 2,991/3,041).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,066/3,211 (Rs 3,050/3,210).
