Mentha oil futures drop 0.53% on ample stocks

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Mentha futures fell 0.53 per cent to Rs 954.10 per kg today as speculators trimmed positions, driven by sluggish demand from consuming industries at the spot market.

Further, ample stocks position on higher supplies from Chandausi in too weighed on mentha prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha for delivery this month contract declined by Rs 5.10, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 954.10 per kg in a business turnover of 309 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in May contract traded lower by Rs 4.50, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 965.30 per kg in 109 lots.

Analysts said, offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in spot market against ample stocks position on increased supplies from Chandausi in mainly led to the decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
