A three-year-old girl was killed after allegedly being raped by her neighbour at Yunuspur village in Shamli district, following which the accused was arrested, police said today. The accused, identified as Lachlan Singh, yesterday allegedly lured the girl on the pretext of giving her food and raped her, they said. After which Singh allegedly killed her with a sharp-edged weapon and hid the body in a cupboard in his house, the police said. The body was recovered from the cupboard and sent for the post-mortem, they said. On the basis of a complaint by the girl's family, a case was registered in the matter and the accused was arrested, the police said.
