Several people gathered at the India Gate today to celebrate the inclusion and recognition of multiple sclerosis in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016.
On the occasion of World Disability Day, patients of multiple sclerosis, a disease of the nervous system, held posters and actively participated in the programme.
The function was organised by the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) and was attended by men, women and children with hearing, speech and mental disabilities.
The programme concluded with the release of hundreds of yellow and blue balloons and a solidarity walk from the India Gate to the Dhyan Chand National Stadium here.
