Eleven persons, including four women, died on the spot when a speeding lorry ploughed into a crowd and knocked down a high tension power cable pole outside a police station at Yerpedu in Chittoor district.
Three persons succumbed at the SVRR Government Hospital where the injured were hospitalised initially. The condition of six of the injured was stated to be critical.
"I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and my prayers are with the injured," Naidu said.
