A 28-year-old man from Nepal allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the 24th floor of a building located near Bandra Bandstand in the wee hours today, a senior police official said.
The deceased was identified as Bharat Hooda.
"Hooda ended his life by jumping off the 24th floor of the building where he used to work as a domestic help. He used to work and live in that building with his uncle," the official said.
Last night around 10 pm, Hooda came to the building drunk and killed himself around 1 am, he said.
"The victim's uncle told the police that Hooda was under some pressure since the last one month. But despite repeatedly asking him about the cause of his worry, Hooda did not reveal it to him," senior police inspector of Bandra police station, Pandit Thackeray, said.
The official said no suicide note was found at the spot.
Police have registered a case of accidental death in this connection.
