The 105th session of Indian Science Congress, a gathering of scientific luminaries from countries across the world, will be held at the city-based Osmania University (OU) from January 3 to 7 next year.
OU Vice-Chancellor Prof S Ramachandram today received a communication from the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) General President Achyuta Samanta in this regard.
In the communication, the association informed the university about its selection to host the 105th conference of the Indian Science Congress, an OU release said here.
The VC thanked the association for giving the varsity an opportunity to host the prestigious event. "The faculty, staff and students would work wholeheartedly for the successful conduct of the session," Ramachandram said.
The university had hosted the 85th session of the event in 1998.
The 104th session of the event was held at the Sri Venkateswara University in Tiruapti in January this year. The five-day conference was attended by half a dozen Nobel Prize winners from different countries and 14,000 scientists and scholars from India and abroad.
