"In April the beer consumption was 9.59 lakh bottles. As the temperature rose in May, residents consumed 14.98 lakh bottles. In June, 15.63 lakh bottles were consumed," District Excise Officer Kuldeep Yadav, told PTI today.
"In the month of April in 2011, beer consumption was 7.92 lakh bottles. In April this year, beer consumption recorded increase of 21.21 per cent," he said.
Beer consumption in May last year was 12.52 lakh bottles and this year registered a 19.60 per cent increase in the same month, he said.
"In June last year, beer consumption was 12 lakh bottles. This June it registered 30 per cent increase," he added.
