Press Council of India Chairman Justice (Retd) C K Prasad today said it would soon hold a meeting with journalists in the naxal-hit Bastar region of Chhattisgarh over their charges of harassment by the government authorities. A section of media has alleged that the Chhattisgarh government and the security forces were harassing journalists working the naxal-affected areas of the state. Speaking at the Indore Press Club today, Prasad said that the Centre had earlier formed a committee at the instance of the PCI to look into the complaints of harassment of journalists in Chhattisgarh. He, however, said that he could not state at present whether the committee was doing its job in the right manner.
