PMUY and DBT for kerosene subsidy launched in Jharkhand

Press Trust of India  |  Ranchi

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and 'Direct Benefit Transfer' (DBT) for subsidised kerosene in Jharkhand.

Das inaugurated the two schemes here in the presence of Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas (Independent) Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Sudarshan Bhagat, Food Processing, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Minister Saryu Roy and Education Minister Neera Yadav.

While the PMUY has been launched for entire Jharkhand, the DBT transfer of subsidised kerosene has been introduced in Chatra, Hazaribagh, Jamtara and Khunti districts in the first phase.

The Chief Minister said the Centre and the state were "marching with a vision and mission and today's inauguration was an example towards that endeavour".

Under the PMUY, the beneficiary would get a free cylinder, domestic pressure regulator and pipe among other benefits.
