Poacher arrested in Kheri reserved forest

The poacher along with two of his associates had killed the spotted deer in the reserved forest area, a senior forest official said.

The poacher has been identified as Ram Chandra while his two associates, who managed to flee have been identified as Jokhu Ram and Kishore, Pallia forest range officer P K Tewari said.

Meanwhile, a team of Sampurnanagar forest range officials under north Kheri forest division has been deputed to keep a vigil on the movement of a tigress, which is on the prowl in Mirchia and Raninanagar area for the last several days.

The tigress with its young cubs has been visiting the two villages, triggering panic among the residents.

DFO K K Pandey has instructed the local forest officials to monitor the big cat and drive it back to jungles.
