President's office mum on Patil interview

In an interview to NDTV yesterday, Patil who has been facing criticism over her foreign visits, said that there has been a "misconception" over the issue.

She said the people of the country should respect the President's post and ascertain the factual position before raising questions.

There was no official response to the question on why the President gave an interview to a TV channel not accompanying her, rather than interacting with the mediapersons accompanying her to Seychelles and South Africa.

Patil's term as President ends in July this year.
