Punjab Shiv Sena today lambasted certain "unscrupulous" cow vigilantes for indulging in provocative and violent acts in the name of cow protection, thereby "vitiating interfaith harmony".
Sena's state vice president Rajesh Palta and spokesman Vipin Sharma said stringent legal provisions for protecting cow was the answer to the problem, not the "wayward, aggressive and provocative behaviour" of certain 'gausevaks' (cow protectors), who thrash a category of people and upload the videos of their "stunts" on social media.
They further said that certain self-styled cow protectors had made 'gauseva' (cow protection) their means of livelihood and a source of minting money.
