Pvt company official commits suicide

Press Trust of India  |  Jaipur

A 55-year-old official of a private company allegedly committed suicide by taking an overdose of anti-depressant pills here, police said today.

Deepak Rashmi Tripathi, who was the joint director of Adani Power Limited posted in Ahmedabad, was found dead in a hotel room here and a suicide note, which read "I am tired of the life and hence taking the extreme step", was recovered there, SHO Ashok Nagar Bala Ram said, adding wrappers of the drugs were also lying in the room.

Tripathi, who was in the city for some official work, did not reach the airport on time following which another company official based in the state approached his hotel room and informed the police when he did not respond to the calls and did not open the door of the room yesterday. Later, he was found dead in the room, he said.

His body was shifted to the SMS hospital mortuary and after postmortem was handed over to his family members, Ram said, adding investigation is on.
