Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurates Digi-Dhan Mela

A Digi-Dhan Mela was inaugurated today by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu who said cashless will benefit all including small vendors.

The Mela seeks to promote cashless economy through mode of transactions in the country.

The Railway Minister said it was necessary to create awareness about the benefits of payment among all sections of the society.

It would immensely benefit people starting from small vendors and fruit sellers to hair cutting salons, he said.

Speaking at the function, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said there would be no need for the people to visit banks everytime as the Centre was making efforts to shift the focus towards payment mode.

Several banks, BSNL, Post, Common Service Centre, UIDAI, marketing companies and private e-wallet operators have put up stalls outside Bhubaneswar railway station to make people aware of cashless transactions.

A day long exhibition was organised to sensitise people about systems and their advantages.

Odia cinestars Sabyasachi Mishra and Archita Sahu also participated in the Mela.
