Rasika Duggal has been roped in to star in Saregama's new film production arm, Yoodlee Films' upcoming project "Hamid".
The actor, who will next be seen in Nandita Das' directorial venture "Manto", will be playing one of the lead roles in "Hamid".
The film, directed by Aijaz Khan, is a heart warming tale of a relationship between a widowed mother and a young son who loses his father during the unrest in Kashmir.
The plot deals with the current situation in Kashmir and its impact on the people who live there. It has been shot in different parts of Kashmir including Srinagar and Baramula.
"What really appealed to me about the film was how it has shown the human side to the current plight and given the snapshot into the scenario using a very personal story instead of making it political," Rasika said in a statement.
