Police today foiled a robbery attempt at a finance company in Naupada here with the arrest of 15 gang members, mostly from Jharkhand.
According Thane Police PRO Sukhada Narkar, the armed accused had allegedly made plans to break into the office of the company, in the wee hours.
However, they were arrested by Thane Police, which had kept strict vigil in the locality following a tip off, she said.
Those arrested have been booked under sections 399, 400, 401, 402 and 120B of the IPC, the officer said.
Offences were registered against them at Naupada police station.
The accused, all in the age group of around 25-35, hailed from Navi Mumbai and Sahebganj in Jharkhand, she added.
