Rs 33 lakh snatched from employees of garment trader

Two employees of a garment trader were today robbed of Rs 33 lakh by criminals riding a motorcycle in Shakarpur area of East Delhi.

Police said that the two employees of garment trader Pramod in Gandhi Nagar area were returning on a Scooty when a bag containing Rs 33 lakh was snatched by the two robbers riding another motorcycle near Pushta Road in Shakarpur area around 4 PM.



The trader's employees -- Niraj and Devendra -- had gone for collection of dues from customers in Karol Bagh when the incident took place.

The employees claimed that they gave a chase to the robbers but they managed to speed away. Investigation is underway and efforts are being made to identify the robbers, a police officer said.
