Salma Hayek doesn't want to keep playing 'sexy' roles

Press Trust of India  |  Los Angeles

Actress Salma Hayek says she is bored of playing "sexy" roles in the movies and is now willing to portray a mother or grandmother on big screen.

During an interview with DuJour magazine, the 50-year-old actress says, "Sometimes with age, you get better characters. I love to play the mother, and I'll be excited to play the grandmother.

"How boring to play that (sexy) part for the rest of my life. I think I'd shoot myself."

Hayek says she prefers to pick movies that fit around her family as her husband and daughter are her top priorities.

"A lot of the time I choose the movies I do by convenience. I just take it one day at a time, I don't do strategy.

"The most important thing in my life is my family, easily.

I've never been away from my daughter for more than two weeks. Sometimes I do a movie (just) because I like the people," she says.
