Hallegua died on Tuesday following cardiac arrest and the last rites were performed yesterday. He was wheel-chair bound.
The body of Hallegua, who was the warden and leader of the community, was laid to rest at the Jewish cemetery at Mattancherry.
A memorial prayer service was held this morning at the Jewish synagogue.
