Tripura Law Secretary Data Mohan Jamatiya said, Sampa Nath, former principal counselling officer of the family court in North Tripura district was terminated from service on Saturday following endorsement of the government's recommendation to this effect by Tripura Governor, Dr. D Y Patil.

Jamatiya told PTI that following her derogatory remarks against the judges of other courts, including Gauhati High Court and Supreme Court, in a recent press conference and a series of misconducts, the Guahati High court conducted an inquiry against her.

The inquiry found her charges against the judges baseless and the government recommended termination of her service to the Governor who endorsed the termination on Saturday, Jamatiya told PTI.

The Law Secretary said she was also debarred from legal practice and proceedings would be started against her on charges of contempt of court.

Sampa Nath was a cadre of Tripura Judicial Service and was holding a post equivalent to that of the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
