The 19-year-old has combined three national anthems for the track, which he has composed alongwith his cousin Soumil Shringarpure.

"Me and Soumil have produced a track for director Deepa Mehta's upcoming film based on the Salman Rushdie's novel. It is a combination of three national anthems. She approached us from Toronto via email and we still interact through the same medium. It was a good experience," Siddharth told PTI.

"Midnight's Children" features an ensemble cast of Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas, Shahana Goswami, Samrat Chakrabarti, Rahul Bose, Soha Ali Khan, Siddharth Narayan, Anupam Kher, Darsheel Safary among others. It is scheduled to release in late 2012.

Siddharth has previously teamed up with cousin Soumil for Marathi film "Swapna Tuzha Aani Mazha" for five songs and the background score. The duo have also worked together for various jingles.

Siddharth has been nominated for a GIMA this year alongwith his younger brother Shivam for their album 'Ganaraj Adhiraj' directed by Gulraj Singh.

"The album is about Lord Ganesha. It is a modern take on Ganesh vandana. Lyricist Manoj Yadav and Gulraj Singh have worked together as a team for over seven years and this album is very soulful. Dad (Shankar) told us about our nomination. He is very proud," Siddharth said.

"It is a great feeling to be nominated among the music greats like Sharat Chandra Srivastava, Manoj Pandya. We both have been working hard and the nomination gives us the impetus to do better. But we realise that we have a long way to go."

The young singer-composer also said that the nomination gives them a sense of responsibility towards the music industry.

"It has given us a huge sense of responsibility. From here on, both Shivam and I want to go forward," Siddharth said.
