The Telangana government today decided to supply water for the second crop in old Nizamabad and Medak districts from the Singur reservoir.
"Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to give water for the second crop through Singur for 2 lakh acres of land," a release from Raos office said.
The decision was taken following a request from ministers T Harish Rao and Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy for the release of water for the second crop as there is 29 TMC maximum level water in Singur, it said.
"They (ministers) said it is the desire of the people to have a second crop," the release added.
