Six-year-old boy killed as school gate collapses

Six-year-old Krishna, who had got admission in the school yesterday itself, and his sister Sunita (8) were playing at the gate when it suddenly collapsed along with the pillar killing him on the spot, police said.

The boy's sister also received serious injuries and had been admitted to a local hospital.

The school's principal, Anil Kumar, has been suspended following the yesterday's incident which prima facie appeared to be a result of negligence in construction, Basic Shiksha Adhikari J N Singh said.

A two-member committee has also been set up to probe into the incident, Singh added.
