Four persons, including a local Samajwadi Party leader, were injured in a clash over sowing in Mahuavatar village here today.
Rival factions clashed over sowing in which both the sides used firearms and sharp-edged weapons, Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna said.
"Samajwadi Party's Bithara Road Assembly constituency vice president Amarjit Yadav and three others were injured in the incident," he said.
Two of the injured, whose condition was stated to be critical, were later referred to a hospital in Varanasi for treatment, the police officer said.
