Special session of Maha legislature to be called to pass SGST

The BJP-led is likely to convene a special session of the legislature in coming days to pass the State Goods and Services (SGST) Act.

A senior official of the Department said here on the condition of anonymity today that the Centre had asked the to get SGST Act passed by May 31.

The state has already decided to implement the Goods and Services (GST) as enacted by the Centre from July 1.

The state will need to pass its own enabling SGST Act before July 1 to give effect to the uniform taxation law,
