Steep increase in gram dal prices

Barring the gram dal, prices of urad dal and maida (90 kg) decreased, while rest of the commodities ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrains market in the week ended today.

Opening at the same rate of Rs 10,500, gram dal price ruled steady till Thursday when it rose sharply by Rs 1,000 per quintal to finish this week at Rs 11,500.

Urad dal opened at the same closing rate of Rs 12,000, its price remaining constant till Thursday, when it fell by Rs 500 per quintal to close the week at Rs 11,500.

The price of maida (90 kg) remained steady at Rs 2,700 till Thursday when it came down by Rs 100 to end the week at Rs 2,600.

Meanwhile, thoor dal (Rs 12,000), moong dal (Rs 7,500), sugar (Rs 3,850), wheat (Rs 2,900) and sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,200) ruled steady throughout the week.
