Sugar ends quiet on restricted activity

Sugar prices ended steady at the wholesale market in the national capital today following sporadic buying support amid sufficient stocks.

Marketmen said scattered buying to meet ongoing wedding and summer season demand amid adequate stocks, mainly kept the sweetener prices unaltered.


Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets - Rs 39.00-42.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,870-3,930, S-30 Rs 3,860-3,920.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,530-3,630, S-30 Rs 3,520-3,620.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,595, Kinnoni Rs 3,630, Asmoli Rs 3,610, Dorala Rs 3,590, Budhana Rs 3,605, Thanabhavan Rs 3,600, Dhanora Rs 3,615, Simbholi Rs 3,620, Khatuli Rs 3,610, Dhampur Rs 3,560, Ramala Rs 3,540, Anupshaher Rs 3,535, Baghpat Rs 3,550, Morna Rs 3,545, Sakoti Rs 3,570, Chandpur Rs 3,570, Nazibabad Rs 3,535 and Modinagar Rs 3,585.
