Announcing the schedule, Gupta said that the period for filing of claims and objections would be from October 1 to October 19 and from October 30 to November 9, this year.

Dates for special campaign with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections are October 7, October 14 and November 4 this year.

While disposal of claims and objections and preparation of database would be completed by January 9, 2013, final Electoral Rolls would be published on January 15, 2013, Gupta said.

Gupta said that the emphasis would be on covering non-image electors in order to achieve 100 per cent EPIC and Photo Electoral Roll which is presently 99.3 per cent. "While many districts have already achieved the target, the rest are very close to the target of 100 per cent EPIC coverage", he said.

"This time our focus is to increase the enrolment of females belonging to all cross sections of society", he said.

Departments of the state governments like Panchayat and Rural Development, Youth Services, Self Help Group and Self Employment are being associated as partners, Gupta added.

The EC has announced Nirvachak Sahayata Sammaan to urban puja organisers as part of its special awareness drive during the ensuing Durgapuja festival to involve maximum number of people with the Summary Revision Programme, Gupta said.
