Third seed and no. 1 Saurav Ghosal defeated Joel Makin of Wales 11-6 11-8 6-11 11-2 to join Tandon in the last four of the PSA event. Ghosal beat Makin in 59 minutes.

Former national squash champion and PSA representative, Ritwik Bhattacharya, hailed Tandon's victory.

"This is big for Ramit and for the Indian Squash Circuit. It will give a huge boost to his confidence as well as his world ranking. Superb performance, beating Borja in five games," said Ritwik.
