Tel power firms draw up plans to supply 11,500 MW for lift

Power utilities in have drawn up plans to supply 11,500 MW of power to lift irrigation schemes in the state.

The plans have been prepared to realise the state government's objective of bringing one crore acres of land under irrigation, a release from the Chief Minister's office said today.


New sub-stations and supply lines will be established at a cost of Rs 6,000 crore, it said.

Power Transmission Corporation (Transco) has estimated that 11,500 MW of power would be required upon the completion of Kaleswaram, Palamuru and Sitarama lift irrigation projects.

Transco has submitted an action plan to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the release added.
