Two elderly men and a woman were killed allegedly by unidentified persons in two different incidents last night at Chapra village in the district, police said today. The accused also severed the head of one of the victim and took it away, a senior police official said. "Unidentified persons using sharp-edged weapons killed the trio," said Katni SP Shashikant Shukla. "The accused attacked two elderly persons sleeping outside their respective houses and attacked them with sharp weapons in which they died.
The victims were identified as Jagdish Singh (70) and his neighbour Punia Bai (69)", the officer said. In another incident, the accused attacked a marble trading unit outside the village and killed the watchman Zalim Singh (65) and severed his head and took it along, the SP said. A case was registered and a probe is on, the SP added.
