Three members of Lakdawala gang held for plot to kill bizman

Three suspected members of Ejaz Lakdawala gang were arrested from western suburbs for allegedly plotting to kill a local businessman after he refused to pay Rs 2 crore in extortion, police said today.

Sleuths of Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) apprehended Sagar Indulkar (25) and Ankush Tayade (21) from S.V.Raod in (west), and Sagar Chavan (24) from Mira Road last night.



Police recovered a pistol, five bullets, a knife, a motorcycle and mobile phones from Indulkar and Tayade.

According to an AEC official, the trio had allegedly hatched a plan to bump off the businessman on the instructions of a gangster, also belonging to Lakdawala gang, who is currently lodged in Arthur Road prison here.

Police will question the gangster in the prison in connection with the plot.
