Press Trust of India  |  Bhaderwah/Jammu

Three members of a family were killed after their house collapsed following heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district.

"The incident took place when the roof of a mud house collapsed due to heavy rains in Tanta at 5 am", Sunny Gupta, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Gandoh, said.

The deceased were identified as Mohd Abbas (25), his wife Tasleema Begum (22) and their minor daughter Aaliya(3).

Mohammad Abbas, a daily wager, lived in a mud house.

All three members of the family were sleeping when the house collapsed.

"Due to inaccessibility of the village, instead of taking the bodies to hospital, which is 28 km downhill from Tanta, we a called a team of doctors from SDH Thathri for autopsy," SDPO added.
