TV actress among 86 who tested positive for drugs, says police

"Actress Shilpa Agnihotri's blood report suggests she consumed drugs," a police officer said, refusing to name the drug.

The police had earlier revealed that 86 out of 90 people, who attended the sundown party at Oakwood Premier Hotel in Juhu in May 20, tested positive for drugs.

The police had also stated that among those who had consumed drugs included two IPL players - Wayne Parnell from South Africa and Rahul Sharma, Shilpa's actor husband Apurva Agnihotri, Anshuman Jha, Parth Sharma, Amit Gaur, famous fashion designer Rocky S, cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi's son Angad Bedi, celebrities Rahul Dahia, Kartik Jobanputra, DJ brothers Dipesh Sharma and Rakesh Sharma and the hotel director Vishay Handa.

On May 20, the police had raided the hotel and rounded up 90 patrons, including foreigners. They were let off after their urine and blood samples were taken. Of these, 86 had consumed either cannabis, cocaine or MDMA (better known as ecstasy, a drug usually taken in a pill form) or all three, the police said.

"Those tested negative include two males, identified as Amrit Sagar, grandson of Ramanand Sagar, director of television serial 'Ramayan' and Rahul Sughand," the police officer said.

Of the 4,000 music tracks seized from DJs at the party, 95 per cent was trance music, the police said.

A day after the raid, the police had also arrested Handa, the director of the hotel, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
