A group of people allegedly beat up the two students of a government school in South East Delhi's Amar Colony area following which a case was registered and two persons have been detained, police said today.

Two brothers, students of class XII of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Sriniwaspuri, at around 1.45 pm got into an argument with another group of students which later turned ugly and other group called their friends and relatives to beat up the two brothers, said a senior police official.

The two brothers were severely injured and police had to intervene in the matter to calm the situation.

"A case under Section 308 of (Attempt to commit culpable homicide) was registered and two persons have been detained. We will be questioning them to know about what triggered the fight and their involvement in the matter," said a senior police official.

One of the two brothers sustained head injuries while the other brother is currently under treatment and is not in a position to record his statement.
