Two killed in clash

others injured when two groups clashed and opened fire at each other over a dispute related to panchayat polls, police said today.

Former village head Kripa Shanker alias Mister and Santosh had an argument last evening after which both the groups clashed and opened fire at each other.

Police said both Kripa Shanker and Santosh were killed in the cross firing.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj said preliminary investigation has confirmed firing from both the sides.

Police said both sides were involved in a dispute after the panchayat polls in which Kripa Shanker had fielded his wife whereas Santosh had fielded his daughter-in-law Arti, who lost.

 

Four persons have been detained in this connection and Santosh's rifle has been recovered, they said.
