Two quintals of poppy skin, which is used in making heroin, was today seized and one person was arrested under Pipalya Mandi police station in the district, police said. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a pick-up van and seized the contraband, in-charge of Pipalya Mandi police station, Anil Singh Thakur, said. The arrested accused, Devilal Gayri (22), is the driver of the vehicle, he said. The seized poppy skin is worth around Rs two lakh, Thakur said adding, "The contraband was hidden under the gunny bags filled with onions.
It was being taken to Bhilwada (Rajasthan) via Neemuch." A case has been registered and further investigation into the case is on.
