Uttarakhand Governor K K Paul today conferred the meritorious students of classes 10 and 12 with the Governor's Award and advised them to chose their career carefully. "Students after 12th should not let their choice of a career be influenced by others.
Chose your career in accordance with your aptitude and ability," he said. The governor also asked the students to work on their computer and language skills as they were going to play a "crucial role in their growth after they take up a career." Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat showered praise on the governor for starting an initiative in 2015 providing cash award besides certificates to meritorious students. "An initiative like this encourages academic excellence by incentivising it," he said. The BJP-led state government has also decided to distribute laptops among those who figure in the state's merit list of all subjects in the boards from this year. Rawat also encouraged Sanskrit learning among students.
