US drone kills 4 militants in Pakistan

The CIA-operated spy planed targeted a compound in Shawal area of North Waziristan Agency, described by US officials as a stronghold for Taliban and Al Qaeda elements.

Local residents and officials were quoted by TV news channels as saying that those killed in the attack could be high profile militants.

The US has continued its drone campaign in the tribal belt bordering Afghanistan despite protests by Pakistan, which describes the attacks as counter-productive and a violation of the country's sovereignty.
