The channel content will comprise features and reality programmes and news segments, Disney UTV's director (youth channels and media networks) Nikhil Gandhi told PTI.

"Bollywood is massively popular in the UK and with UMP STARS we hope to increase its popularity. Television viewers in the UK will now be able to enjoy rich and vibrant Bollywood content on the channel.

"We are confident of Sky Media's capability of maximising our ad revenues and look forward to a successful entry into the region," he said.

UTV Stars is available in India, the UAE, Australia and Malaysia and now in UK.

"We will expand to other territories of the globe in the next 18 months," Gandhi said, adding that the response to the year-old UTV Stars in India has been outstanding.
