UTV to produce more content-driven films

"We will think about producing Bengali films if the content is good. We have not yet commited on anything, but we are certainly okay with the idea," UTV Disney Studios executive director, marketing, Shikha Kapur told PTI over phone from Mumbai today.

'Rowdy Rathore' is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions and directed by Prabhudheva. It stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.

The film marks the return of Akshay Kumar in action films after 7 years and will hit theatres worldwide on June 1.

"We are already in the south, producing films including those having Mohanlal in lead. So we are ready to back quality products in regional films and not confined within Hindi film industry only," Kapur said.
