Villagers beat up four policemen

Press Trust of India  |  Muzaffarpur

A group of villagers today beat up four policemen when they were trying to arrest a school teacher for allegedly recovering from the backyard of his house at Sanathi.

The villagers thrashed the cops alleging that police was trying to arrest the teacher without registering any case, a police officer said adding that bottles were recovered from the premises of the teacher's house in Muzaffarpur district on April 10 last.

The pistol of an ASI was snatched away by the attackers, but the weapon was returned later.

The four policemen are undergoing treatment at SKMCH, police said.
