Vizag Collector summoned by Lokayukta in heavy blasting case

One T Nageswara Rao of Anakapalli mandal in Visakhapatnam district had earlier filed a complaint alleging that due to unauthorised heavy blasting done by Madhucon Private Limited in Survey Number 1 of Marturu village, severe damage was being caused to their agricultural land, house property and threat to human life because of pollution and sought directions to the concerned.

The Lokayukta had on June 20 directed the District Collector to get the matter enquired into and submit a report.

However, as no report was received from the Collector, a reminder was issued to comply with the order and the matter was posted to November 30.

Even on that day, neither report was submitted nor any representation was filed by the Visakhapatnam Collector, after which the Lokayukta on December 3 issued directions asking the Collector to appear in person before the Lokayukta on January 10 next year, according to a release here today.
