We encourage our players to play in IPL: James Wear

Press Trust of India  |  Kolkata

Cricket may be averse to their star players participation in the lucrative Indian League but their trans-Tasman rivals think otherwise.

"We think is a top league. The Cricket encourages its players to play in the IPL," James Wear, the commercial director of Cricket said on the sidelines of the Black Caps sponsorship announcement with Gujarat-based dairy giants Amul for the Champions Trophy.

The governing body has reportedly approached Test captain Steve Smith, vice-captain David Warner, fast bowlers Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins with three-year contracts provided they leave the from next year.
