that her in-laws were harassing her for dowry.

The incident was reported from south Delhi's Mehrauli this afternoon and the deceased have been identified as Vineetha Katara and her two children -- an one-and-half-year- old boy and three-and-half-year-old girl.

"It appears that she hung her children. After that, she hung herself," a senior police official said.

The incident came to light when one of her relatives called police from Rajasthan, asking investigators to check her as her phone was found switched off.

She had gone to Mehrauli police station this afternoon to file a complaint against her in-laws.

"While returning, she spoke with one of her relatives in Rajasthan. But after sometime, the call got disconnected. Later, the relative found out that her phone was switched," the official said.

Panicked, the relative found the local police station number and requested police personnel to check out what happened to her, he said.

Police went to the residence where they found the woman and her children lying unconscious.

They were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared brought dead.

A Sub Divisional Magistrate-level inquiry has been ordered.

The husband of the victim is pursuing a course in nursing.
